Everytime I have been there I have experienced a very 'cold vibe'.

please note that this is not different from the 'cold vibes' I have felt in Melbourne or Brisbane. It just seemed colder. Every time I have been there. (maybe 15-16 times)

I really dont want to dwell on the negative. I consider myself a realist erring on the side of positivity so if you think I am in error feel free to point it out to meπŸ™‚

'cold vibe' i can understand. like many big cities it can be a bit impersonal for sure. the pace is quite fast, people are wrapped up in their own concerns, etc. i don't think i would classify that as a 'hate vibe' though. and i agree, i think the effect is definitely more pronounced than in Melbourne. can't speak for Brisbane, as i haven't been up that way for a while. London seemed similarly cold, though, and so did most big cities which i have visited. maybe it's just a feeling you get from being an outsider in a big city.

Quite possibly because I am outsider, Yes.

You mention speed. I'm sure if you measured the average walking pace of Sydney-ites it would be faster than Melbourne and Brisbane.

Glascow is older and has more history than Australian cities.

yeah, i agree - it's one of the things i like about being in a big city. having to say 'hi' to a thousand people a day would get old really quickly, which i guess is why no-one does it (except the charity muggers and beggars).

um, no. she was just ranting away 'god is almighty!' 'god loves you!' 'god is the duck's nuts!'

that sort of thing. noise pollution, basically.
No kidding? I would never have guessed that.

Most of the noise pollution is from daytime television. She should have her own show! Except in telemundo - where the silliness is warranted!
